She was signed to the Ford's Model Talent Division and appeared in several commercials, most notably Clairol, as well as performing in theater productions. After a role in the film "Fire with Fire" (1986), she landed a job on MTV as a VJ and was a co-host of the show "Remote Control."  Wührer came to mainstream fame in 1997 on the series Sliders as Maggie Beckett, joining the cast as a regular and staying until the show ended in 2000. Later mainstream movie roles include "Anaconda" (1997), "Berserker" (2001) and "Eight Legged Freaks" (2002).  Has had her breast implants and her tattoos removed. These were: a peacock feather on her shoulder, and her ex-husband's name on her ankle.[2002]  Wührer married the film producer James Scura in 2003. She and her husband have two children: a boy named Enzo, born January 2004, and a girl named Evangeline, born 27 March 2006.
Vivid: Kari Wuhrer stars as the frustrated girlfriend of a painter, Cole, who has been lacking in inspiration lately. Unable to do anything but brood over his lack of production, he neglects Ms. Wuhrer's needs, prompting her to try modeling for him. When that doesn't help, he splashes paint on her in anger, leading to an impromptu roll-in-the-paint that creates the look Cole has been looking for, and making him a substantial amount of money once his agent sees the results. So, he becomes obsessed with this new painting technique, which is fine with his girlfriend, for a while. When it becomes clear to her that Cole's obsessed with this new technique, their relationship starts to fall apart.
