She was signed to the Ford's Model Talent Division and appeared in several commercials, most notably Clairol, as well as performing in theater productions. After a role in the film Fire with Fire (1986), she landed a job on MTV as a VJ and was a co-host of the show "Remote Control." Has had her breast implants and her tattoos removed. These were: a peacock feather on her shoulder, and her ex-husband's name on her ankle.[2002]

Boulevard: A young woman (Kari Wuhrer (Salin)) regularly beaten and tortured by her lover, gives birth and immediately gives the child up for adoption. This sets her on an escape from the lover on the streets of Toronto. Here she meets a hardened hooker (Chong) who takes her in so she won't be arrested for vagrancy. The woman then decides to take up hooking to make money and has to learn to fend for herself and to protect herself from a demanding pimp (Phillips). When the pimp kills one of the street girls, it pits him against the others and against a detective (Henriksen) out to bust him. Contains lots of nudity, including brief full frontal nudity by Wuhrer, simulated sex and sexual discussion, sexual violence, and profanity.
